Every sunday
Throughout the summer we arrange a variety of exciting activities at the Iron Age Farm. You can spin thread on a spindle, make fire with steel and flint, bake bread on a flat stone (hellebrød), play in the play house, follow a trail, plait a friendship bracelet, and much more.

Weekend 18–20 June: Viking market
Three days of non-stop Viking activities. We are ‘invaded’ by a horde of Vikings who make and sell their own products. Viking battles, archery, Viking horses, blacksmiths, craftsmen and much, much more! Separate programme to be issued later.

Week 25, 21–27 June: Role-playing
13:00: Sign up for a different kind of guided tour where the whole family can take part in historical developments. In Norwegian only. Max. 20 persons.

Week 26: Play time
28 June–4 July: Make farms with people and animals using cones, branches, twigs, leaves etc! Weave a willow fish–Wednesday, 30 June, Thursday, 1 July and Friday, 2 July. Sunday, 4 July: Archaeologist Grete Lillehammer talks about children in prehistoric times.

Week 27, 5 –11 July Fire and flames
Can you make a fire the way people did in the Iron Age?
If not, this is your chance to learn!
Sunday, 11 July: 13:00 Story time with Marianne Stenerud

Week 28, 12–18 July: Make a lucky amulet pouch of leather

Week 19, 19–25 July: We celebrate summer
Make your own butter and enjoy it on warm, freshly made hellebrød (bread baked on a flat stone)

Week 30: Culinary feast at the Farm

26 July–1 August: All week: Make use of this opportunity to sample a number of prehistoric delicacies.
